TOPi® Nova Release Notes

TOPi® Nova 2026.10 is part of the journey to comprehensively revamp the TOPi® browser-based tools, resulting in an improved user experience, enhanced security, and more efficient ongoing development thanks to the modernization of the technology platform. The NOVA version introduces redesigned Dashboard, ProTrend, and OP tools—featuring familiar functions but offering an even smoother user experience. Also, several security hardening and framework updates have been applied across TOPi® services under the hood. TOPi® supports now modern OAuth2 authentication as well. The functionality of several tools has been improved, or new features have been added. We welcome feedback on the new TOPi® 2.0 tools – development continues!

General

• This release continues the TOPi 2.0 rollout. Dashboard, ProTrend, and OP now have React-based views, which are enabled by default. The legacy views remain available during the transition as a fallback and can be enabled separately if needed. 
• Security hardening and framework updates have been applied across TOPi services to improve reliability, maintainability, and protection of both back-end and front-end deployments. 
• Authentication and application routing have been improved for modern TOPi environments, especially when TOPi is used behind API Gateway or external identity providers. 
• Offline packaged installations now include the browser components needed by graphics export, reducing external download requirements. 
• Clean installations are simpler to set up because starter user groups will now be created automatically. 
• Error messages now show the underlying issue more clearly in many situations. 
• Customer-facing REST API documentation is now available through the built-in Swagger / OpenAPI documentation. 
• Help and customer-facing documentation have been refreshed to better match the current product and release flow. 

TOPi® 2.0 UI 

• Dialog windows in the new interface can now be moved freely, making side-by-side work easier on large screens. 
• A shared loading indicator makes long-running actions easier to notice across the new UI. 

Authentication

• TOPi supports modern OAuth2 / Keycloak based login and logout flows. 
• Browser OAuth2 authorization and callback paths now work through API Gateway with any configured identity provider, including Entra ID and Keycloak. The Keycloak-specific identity-provider route remains available when its profile is enabled. 
• MONA OAuth2 environments can use external JWT based sign-in. 
• Application URL override handling has been improved for environments that use API Gateway or deployment-specific UI addresses. 
• Password management has been improved for OAuth2 based environments. 
• Username lookup is more reliable when identity provider usernames include an @domain suffix. 
• Creating or editing users now gives a clear validation message when an email address is already in use instead of showing a generic server error. 
• Installations that use starter user groups now migrate more reliably during updates. 

Dashboard

• Dashboard titles can open the related variable directly in ProTrend when no explicit link has been configured, making trend investigation faster. 

ProTrend 

• The TOPi 2.0 ProTrend view has gained major new or enhanced functionality: 
• inspect exact values in a data table with timestamps, units, and quality indicators 
• replay historical trends 
• open the current trend in Report 
• export trend data in common report formats 
• save the current graph as a PNG image 
• use a monitor-window mode for large-screen and control-room use 
• The trend legend can now float inside the graph, be moved freely, and be collapsed when needed. 
• Default time period and graph background color can be edited directly from the graph controls. 
• Adding new variables is smoother because new rows can be inserted relative to the currently selected variable. 
• Save confirmations are now tied more reliably to the actual save result. 
• Graph readability and stability have been improved with better label handling, clearer timestamps, improved default colors, and more stable PNG export behavior. 

OP

• OP now has a TOPi 2.0 React-based view alongside the legacy view, helping deployments move to the new interface gradually. 
• OP edit and visualization views have been improved in the TOPi 2.0 interface. 
• The separate legacy startup visualization selection is no longer shown when creating a new OP display in the new UI. 
• OP graphs can now be shown either responsively or with a fixed size, depending on the display configuration. 
• Text labels and reference lines in OP can use freely selected colors. 

ProView

• Large embedded SVG graphics are handled more reliably in ProView and process displays. 

Report

• Automated report emails can now use BCC recipients. 
• Report and trend styled exports now align values more consistently, improving readability in generated output. 
• Report and export handling have been improved for reliability and formatting, including CSV and Excel output. 
• FileCom export now applies calculation coefficients correctly. 

Calculations 

• Calculation parameter import is simpler: parameter names can be imported without matching the full previous definition. 
• Calculation filtering and troubleshooting information are clearer in the user interface and logs. 
• The scenario sequence run dialog now handles numeric calculation step values correctly. 

Configurator 

• CSV export has been improved for large datasets with better reliability, automatic column sizing, and localized output. 
• Problems that could cause empty or truncated CSV exports in edge cases have been fixed. 

Help 

• Help content for Dashboard, ProTrend, and OP has been refreshed, and separate legacy / TOPi 2.0 guidance has been added where needed.
