Solvo® streamlines process simulation
Solvo is a versatile tool for professionally designing and optimising power plant processes. It relies on balanced mass, energy flows and equation solutions to represent equipment behaviour.
Using a model tuned to a known state (e.g., guarantee or design point), Solvo enables examination of processes at different operational and partial load points. Simulation calculations adjust factors like pressure losses, heat transfer coefficients, and TTD to match new process conditions.
Solvo® comprises five main versions:
- Solvo® Education for technical colleges and universities
- Solvo® Design for engineering and consultant firms
- Solvo® DesignPlus for boiler engineering and consultants
- Solvo® O&M for power plants, ideal for what-if studies
- Solvo® Online for real-time process calculations at power plants
The first four are desktop applications for creating and simulating process models with full GUI and Excel interfaces. Solvo® Online is an proven application running at power plants, collecting measurements and storing calculated results at set intervals, typically every 10 minutes.
Solvo® Education - free for academic use
We offer Solvo® Education free of charge to universities and technical colleges. The educational version provides full access to Solvo® Offline functionality, making it an ideal tool for teaching thermodynamics, process engineering, and power plant design — as well as for academic research conducted within these institutions. Whether you're educating future engineers or running research projects as part of your academic programme, Solvo® Education gives you a professional-grade simulation environment at no cost.
